Hi there! It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. Life has been a bit busy over the past month or so. I’ve been working hard on an exciting new business which I hope to launch in the next couple of months. I also went to Hong Kong for a friend’s wedding and am still working full time as well; so I had to take a little break from blogging, but I’m very happy to be back and have lots of ideas for upcoming posts!
Today I’m sharing with you my current night time routine. We all need a bit of ‘me’ time to relax and I really look forward to the end of the night when I can go through my little routine, relax after a long day, and crawl into a nice comfy bed. So lets get to it…
It’s so important to clean your face before bed. I cringe when people tell me they sleep in their makeup… IT’S GROSS! And so bad for your skin! I use this balm cleanser from Clinique to remove makeup and all the environmental germs and toxins collected on my skin throughout the day. I’m keen to find a balm cleanser that is from a certified cruelty free brand, so if you know one please let me know!
If I don’t have makeup on I’ll skip the first step and go straight to cleanser, but I’ll cleanse twice. I find that cream cleansers don’t work for me, they tend to leave a residue feeling on my naturally oily skin. If you have dry skin, a cream cleanser would work well, but the gel consistency of this one from Arbonne is perfect for me.
EYE CREAM & MOISTURISER
I don’t have a favourite eye cream, I tend to cycle through the three from Arbonne’s range. At the moment I’m using the FC5 Hydrating Eye Creme. I have oily skin every else on my face but get dehydrated around the eyes (as do most people) so a hydrating eye cream is important.
I normally use a serum or treatment before I moisturise but I’ve been travelling and house sitting (i.e. living out of a suitcase) so I’ve been keeping my routine simple by skipping treatments and going straight to moisturiser. I’ve tried different night creams but keep coming back to this one from Arbonne. I notice a huge difference in my skin when I use this compared to when I stop using it.
I have really dry lips, so keeping them moisturised is important. I’m using this Nivea lip balm at the moment because it came in a travel kit but it’s not my favourite. I don’t feel like I’ve found a holy grail lip balm yet so if you have any suggestions please let me know.
Once my face and teeth are all clean I like to make a cup of caffeine free tea and jump into bed where I’ll watch something on YouTube or Netflix for a while. This is my favourite part of my routine, when I really get to lay down and just relax.
